Persyaratan Akses Internet


1.       Spesifikasi Komputer
Syarat mutlak mengakses internet adalah computer. Berikut ini merupakan spesifikasi minimal untuk mengakses computer.
a.       Komputer (jika bias menggunakan processor Pentium IV atau di atasnya)
b.      RAM (kapasitas minimal adalah 1 GB)
c.       Harddisk
d.      VGA
e.      Monitor

2.       ISP
a.       Pengertian ISP
Internet Service Provider atau ISP adalah perusahaan yang menawarkan dan menyediakan layanan akses internet ke kalangan umum dengan mengenakan biaya. Contohnya adalah Telkomnet, Indosatnet, Centrin, Cbn, Wasantara, dll.
ISP resmi yang memperoleh izin dari MENKOMINFO di Indonesia tergabung dalam organisasi
b.      Cara Akses Internet
Dibagi menjadi dua kategri, yakni dial-up dan broadband.
a)      Dial-up connection
Digunakan bagi pengguna komputer perorangan, yang tidak terus-menerus menggunakan internet.
·         Dial-up connection yang menggunakan telkomnet@instant.
Yang kita butuhkan adalah:
Perangkat keras              : komputer, modem dan saluran telepon
Perangkat lunak              : pada umumnya pada OS Windows sudah terinstal
                                            secara otomatis
·         Dial-up connection menggunakan modem CDMA/ GSM
Dial-up connection dengan menggunakan modem CDMA atau GSM mulai banyak digunakan karena beberapa pertimbangan, antara lain:
ü  Lebih praktis
ü  Akses lebih cepat di banding dial-up telkomnet@instant
ü  Lebih murah
Namun, modem ini juga memiliki kelemahan, yakni akses data yang tergantung dari sinyal yang ada pada daerah tersebut.
Untuk mengatasi kelemahannya, dibutuhkan perangkat keras sebagai modem, merangkat lunak untuk proses instalasi.

b)      Dedicated Connection
Merupakan hubungan yang bersifat tetap atau permanen. Ada dua jenis jalur lebar yang umum yaitu DSL dan kabel modem, yang mampu mentransfer 512kbps atau lebih, kira-kira 9x lebih cepat dari modem yang menggunakan kabel telepon standar.
